I last read The Guardians of Ga'Hoole books 1-5. I'm not done with the series, though.

Dragonbreath by Ursula Vernon - This was a cute book. I wasn't sure it I'd like it at first, but it was a fun read. :)

Dork Diaries by Rachel Renee Russell - It seems I'm into diary stories lately. haha This one started average, but by the end I really liked it. Dear Dumb Diaries is better, but this is a second. :)

Diary of a Wimpy Kid #1-2 by Jeff Kinney - We have the third book somewhere, but I couldn't find it. :/ These were okay. It bothered me how whiny and mean this boy could be. I wouldn't really recommend them. If you want to read a diary story, the previous two series I mentioned are a lot better.

Unicorn School #3-5 by Linda Chapman - I enjoy these books a lot. :) They're simple, but it's fun to read about the unicorns and their school and their friends and all. I'm thinking of picking up her previous series, My Secret Unicorn, because I like reading these so much. :)

Just finished the Silmarillion and moved on to the Hobbit (now there's a change in pace) and Requiem for the Sun by Elizabeth Haydon, not as good as the original trilogy but still very enjoyable.

I just read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I've heard a lot of positive and negative about this series. It wasn't until I found it on sale through a "book of the month" club that I decided to give it a try. We had just seen the movie, too. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! I actually enjoyed it. Yes, the main character complains a lot, but she gets better as the book goes on. As I've only read the first book, maybe it gets worse later, but I liked it. :) It reminded me a lot of high school. I think she got those parts spot on. :)

I've read a bunch since I've last posted. :)

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo - I thought this was a really sweet book. The end really got me.

Princess and the Peabodys by Betty G. Birney - The pairings didn't turn out like I thought they would, but it was still a fun read.

The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger - I loved this book. We had seen the movie first. I like them both in their own way.

1001 Cranes by Naomi Hirahara - This was a nice coming of age story.

Tall, Dark & Dead by Tate Hallaway - I love this series. I had read the second book first and then searched out the first. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Peter & Max: A Fables Novel by Bill Willingham - I love Fables, so I had to read this. I thought it was really good! It was interesting to find out backstory on several side characters.

Pink Princess Rules the School by Alyssa Crowne - This was a cute book.

Stardust by Neil Gaiman - I'd seen the movie first. The book is different, but they're both good.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J. K. Rowling - I *finally* got around to reading this. The stories were short, but fun.

Vampire Hunter D, Vol. 9: The Rose Princess by Hideyuki Kikuchi - Another great series. It was interesting to have him deal with a female Noble. The end came as a surprise, kind of. It was sad, but good.

Vampire Hunter D, Vol. 10: Dark Nocturne by Hideyuki Kikuchi - This one was interesting because it was a collection of short stories. Some parts seemed uncharacteristic of D, but it was still good.

Giraffes? Giraffes! by Dr. Doris and Mr. Benny Haggis-on-Whey - This was a very interesting and factual book about giraffes. I recommend it to any giraffe enthusiast. :)
